BEFORE TAKING YOUR SEAT IN MY VIRTUAL CONCERT HALL,

I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

MY MISSION AS A musician.

I am a musician that not only loves making music, but loves making music for people. When I take my place on stage, my goal is to honor the composer, connect my soul with what my cello says and invite YOU to hear it. I want to give the audience members an opportunity to take a mental vacation from the swirl outside. So please, come on in! Take a seat and see what I have to offer. If something grabs your attention, let me know! Whether as a performer or cello instructor, it is my honor to share my music with you.

  • Before entering my website…taking your seat in the concert hall, if you will, I would like to share my mission as a musician. Allow me to rewind a bit and give you a brief glimpse into my backstory. I grew up in a family that valued, appreciated, and some of us downright revered music. None, however, were professional musicians. While my dad was obsessed with bebop, straight-ahead jazz and classical, his dream of becoming the next Stan Getz sadly remained just that... a dream.

For many years, I thought that would impede my development…not having musician parents, etc. However, what I now love about this fact is that I forged a path at my own volition. At age 9, I started cello lessons and by age 15, there was no turning back. I remember the exact moment when I was “bitten by the bug” so to speak, and nothing anyone could tell me could or would change my direction. I knew pursuing music would be an uphill climb for me, since my parents, while supportive and encouraging, were not “plugged in” per se, to the classical music industry. Coupled with my inner voice telling me that because I wasn’t a Wunderkind and started playing the cello “late”, I would never become a professional musician. (Side note:starting at 9 is kind of old for a string player...think about learning a language as a baby vs. later in life)

What I discovered moving forward, was that yes, it was an uphill climb. Guess what? It is for EVERYONE. We all have to grind…putting in hours and hours in the practice room, in rehearsals and with our private lessons. While I thought that my hard-wiring may not have been engineered for this lifestyle, my inner voice, my muse, my very “reason to be”, was to study and perform music. Sometimes I think the angels in heaven had fun mixing up the ingredients to make me who I am. I have a deep passion for performing yet I wasn’t exactly put into the easiest situation to manifest that passion. However, this taught me that I am a fighter. That is one of the key elements my non-musician parents bequeathed to me.The stubbornness and self-awareness that is necessary to accomplish any dream is deeply rooted in me.

I look back on all of the crazy situations I put myself in to become the best cellist I can be, and I applaud that person. The tenacious, myopic girl who would let nothing stop her, has, over the years, paved the way for me becoming who and what I wanted to be. And what is that? I am a cellist. I am a musician. I can hold my head up and say that to the world and believe it is true. Sure, I stumbled many times. , But had I not stumbled, I would not have learned. “Mistakes are steps to learning”...I tell this to my son all the time, because I now understand the meaning of “failing forward”.

As the youngest of five kids, I grew up learning to share. As the child of big-hearted, loving parents, I learned to love others. Mix that in with what those angels were cooking up, and here I am. I am a musician that not only loves making music, but loves making music for people. When I take my place on stage, my m.o. is to honor the composer, connect my soul with what my cello says and invite YOU to hear it. I want to give the audience members an opportunity to take a mental vacation from the swirl outside. So please, come on in! Take a seat and see what I have to offer. If something grabs your attention, let me know! Whether as a performer or cello instructor,It is my honor to share my music with you.

I’m available for orchestral performances as well as commercial recording sessions. You can find me in Pittsburgh & Nashville the most, but I’m willing to travel wherever a performance will take me.

Because of the joy every type of student has brought to my studio, I enjoy teaching at all levels. But…the student must practice! What the student does between lessons is where the magic develops!

Helping to usher in some of the most memorable moments in life is a great honor.
Whether your dream is solo cello or a small ensemble of strings, I will curate live music to set the perfect tone.
